Here is a quick heads-up on upcoming deadlines and events in and around the Belgo:

Espace Robert Poulin presents Rouge Sanguin

For his current exhibition art-lover Robert Poulin selected works from his collection which are dominated by the colour red. However, don’t expect a Valentine-inspired homage to love and roses. The artworks of Daniel Erban, Marc Leduc, and Osvaldo Ramirez-Castillo speak of blood and soil, Cristina Lama‘s graphic painting depicts violence against women, and upon closer inspection the playful three-dimensional work by Patrick Henley (aka Henriette Valium) turns out to be a dead cat flattened by tire-tracks. Passion and aggression, earth and fire – each artist reveals a different personality of the colour red. The show also includes works by Valerio Adami, Caroline Boileau, Matt Goerzen, Sadko Hadzihasanovic, Michel Lancelôt, and Nadia Moss.

The Montreal All-Nighter is coming up fast, and we are starting to receive the first tidbits of information about the many events which are happening during this cultural extravaganza. Again this year, Art Souterrain, organized by Frédéric Loury, president of Galerie [sas],  promises to be one of the major attractions (besides the Belgo building, of course). The first video teasers are available now, as well as a Facebook page.
