You have until the end of the month to visit Galerie Projex-Mtl and see the exhibition Kenosis by Michel Denée.

Den̩e fuses Minimalism with early Renaissance in this series of geometric, semi-abstract works. His smooth monochromes in warm ochres and browns depict enclosed spaces, one folded into the other like Russian dolls. In each composition there is one space with an opening which lets in a glorious stream of diffuse light. We cannot see what lies outside the opening, only the light that washes away the sharp edges and fills the void (kenosis is Greek for empty). The light can be seen as a metaphor Рfor divine inspiration, for freedom, for hope. The canvases speak of quiet enlightenment; be sure to take a few slow breaths in front of each piece and let the sun shine on you.
